Kay has been teaching dance and performing arts in education and within the community since graduating with a degree in Dance with Fine Art in 2008. Alongside this she has continued her painting and film work with small exhibitions. Her film and installation work explores the relationship between movement and painting. As a dancer and artist she is always trying to find a meeting place between both worlds. In her exploration of this tension between the different aspects of her creativity, she has been led to work with film due to its ability to capture movement.

“I keep coming back to water as I am captivated by the way it dances and how I respond to this physically and emotionally”.

In her more expressive paint work she is more concerned with the process than the product, indulging in the act of moving and applying paint. She likes to project her film work in either intimate enclosed spaces or on contrasting vast areas to try and create immersive and all-encompassing pieces.
